Subscribers to Disney Plus Group Watch can watch series and movies on the streaming platforms with their friends and family at the same time. You can share emoji reactions in real time while watching everything from vintage Disney movies to the Book of Boba Fett, and up to seven people may sync their screens to watch parties together on the web, mobile, linked TVs, and smart TVs.
Group watch is Disney plus, that's became popular during the early days of the covid-19 pandemic. Unlike such services, Group watch functions natively on any device, without the need for an extension or app. It does not, however, provide a chat feature. Instead, viewers can use the Disney Plus app to send emoji reactions to the group screen. You'll need to text or video chat with your buddies while watching to express certain thoughts. However, at the debut of group watch, Jerrell B. Jimerson, senior vice president of product management for Disney Plus, stated that a chat option may be added in the future.
Group Watch is now available on the web and all other platforms.
How to set up Disney Plus Group Watch?
Here's how to use Disney Plus Group Watch to watch all of your favorite Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, and National Geographic movies with your friends and family, no matter where you are. (Please note that if the user has a Kids Profile, he or she will not be allowed to initiate or join a GroupWatch from that profile.)
- Tap or click on the title you wish to view in the Disney Plus app or on the website.
- To the far right of the Play symbol, you'll notice a three-figure icon. It can be tapped or clicked.
- A link will appear, allowing you to invite up to six additional people to join you in watching the show. You can send the link via text, email, or any other method supported by your device. (However, you must have a Disney Plus subscription, which costs $8 a month, to send the link to others.)
- After everyone has been added, anyone can tap Start Stream.
- Any participant can pause, fast forward, or rewind the stream once it has begun.
Although Disney Plus does not currently have a chat feature, viewers can react in real time to the show using six different emoji: like, sad, furious, afraid, and astonished. The emoji will appear at the bottom of everyone's screens, along with the name of the person who submitted it.
In 2020, Group Watch will be available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and New Zealand, however Disney has stated that the feature is solely intended for groups in the same country to watch together.
